Keep your love for reading active and alive

Big Sister Reading is a volunteering program where middle school students help kids between the grades of Kindergarten through third grade learn about reading concepts by reading books, playing games, and participating in fun activities in a low-stress environment. This program was started to help families with small children who would like some extra reading time in a structured way during the pandemic. The world is a very small place when you think about how quickly we can get in touch with each other through technology.  Even after this isolating time, our vision is to make this service be helpful to kids all around the world both for those who are readers (mentors) and students who can share a connection through an accessible, online format... and hopefully some of these connections will continue for years to come!  We are already in several states in the US as well as India and our long-term mission is to expand to support literacy more broadly to underserved communities around the globe.
